Did you know that popcorn was used to test cleaning systems for oil spills?

Try to imagine an ocean liner full of popcorn, bobbing around at sea, and dumping it’s white fluffy load out onto the ocean’s surface! Apparently, popcorn has qualities like oil in that it stays buoyed up on the surface without absorbing water, and so test methods for cleaning oil spills have been performed using 100% biodegradable pipoca!
